![]() ![]() If you look closely at the hands in the seconds and minutes register, you'll notice they're a bit longer than the one in the hour register – Zenith did this on purpose. The sub-dials are engine-turned, adding a layer of depth to the dial. ![]() It featured an automatic movement with a quick-set date, a high-frequency escapement, and tri-color registers that gave it a character all its own. A386 was unlike any other chronograph when it was released both aesthetically and mechanically. It was one of the world's first automatic chronograph movements, and the only one at the time with a high-beat frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour, for improved accuracy. Last year marked the 50th anniversary of the legendary Zenith El Primero movement that was released in 1969. A386 is the most iconic Zenith chronograph and was the first watch to house the automatic El Primero movement.
